Fortnite downtime: When will Fortnite servers be down? What time does downtime start?

Epic Games will be switching off servers tomorrow morning in preparation for the new patch update.

As well as bringing in the new weekly challenges, Epic Games will be bringing in a huge content update to celebrate their first birthday.

The popular Battle Royale shooter has now been out for a year, and Epic Games has teased some big updates to the game to celebrate the occasion.

New skins, cosmetics, and some sneaky surprises are waiting for Fortnite gamers in the morning, but when do the servers go offline?

When is Fortnite downtime?

Epic Games will be kicking Fortnite players out at 8am BST (4am ET) tomorrow morning.

Gamers will be unable to login to the game roughly 20 minutes before the patch rolls out.

Epic Games usually keep the servers offline for roughly two hours, though it may take longer if this patch update is as big as fans are hoping.

Players can expect the servers to be back online before 11am BST (7am ET).

The official Fortnite Twitter account tweeted today: “There’s a party and you’re invited! Patch v5.10 releases tomorrow, July 24 and it marks #Fortnite1st birthday.

“Take a peek at the Patch Notes once downtime begins at 4 AM ET to learn what goodies are coming.”

The update arrives just in time for the first year anniversary of Fortnite.

Battle Royale mode is what made Fortnite famous, but the game actually released on July 25, 2017 with the Save the World Mode.

To mark the anniversary event, Epic Games teased: “July 24th is #Fortnite1st Birthday! For a limited time, you will be able to earn celebratory birthday rewards by completing challenges and quests in game.”

Epic Games also tweeted to announce the Playground Limited Time Mode (LTM) will be available again for the content update on the 25th.

The Fortnite Twitter account said: “Playground mode returns on July 25th! Set up squad battles with new team select options, skirt around in an ATK and gear up with lots more loot.

“Look out for the full list of changes in the 5.10 patch notes.”
