Mamma Mia: How to watch and stream the first movie – is it on Netflix, Amazon Prime?

The first Mamma Mia film was a record-breaking success back in 2008, conquering the box office and selling seemingly endless copies on DVD.

So now, ahead of the release of Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, how can you watch the original?

Mamma Mia has been on a number of streaming services in the recent past but sadly it is nowhere to be seen now.

At time of writing, the film is not on Netflix, Amazon Prime or Now TV Movies in the UK.

A digital copy of the movie can be purchased from Amazon for £4.99 in HD or SD.

The soundtrack is streaming on Spotify, Apple Music and more; and is actually scaling the UK album charts once again.

All of the main cast are back for the follow-up, led by Amanda Seyfried, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Stellan Skarsgard, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth.

Meryl Streep is back as Donna, but speculation continues that her character has died and will appear only in ghost-like form.

The inclusion on the soundtrack album of her singing The Day Before You Came – often interpreted to be about death – has only fanned the rumours more.

Joining the cast is Cher as Donna’s mother Ruby, while Andy Garcia also has a supporting role.

Lily James, meanwhile, plays the younger version of Donna.

Other songs on the menu second time around include Angel Eyes, Fernando and When I Kissed The Teacher; while the likes of Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, Waterloo and Super Trouper.

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again is out on July 20.
