While fans on PC recently got a big new update adding new Crates and loot to the game, other fans are having to bide their time.
The PUBG Xbox One version is still very much a work in progress and will require quite a few more patches before it reaches the 1.0 build.
Currently, players are waiting for the release of patch 9, which could go live later this week.
Developers Bluehole Inc haven’t provided a solid release date for when it might arrive, and it appears may have been delayed due to the recent Lunar New Year.
While they wait for the latest news, they will have the chance to tune in and watch the latest Battlegrounds Invitational.
A new PUBG live stream event is currently ongoing, with the IEM Katowice action starting today.
Taking place at IEM EXPO, 16 teams from all around the globe are battling it out for a $50,000 prize-pool.
Next to nine invited teams from Europe, North America and Asia seven slots will be determined through open and closed qualifier, offering everyone a chance to make their way to the event.
The tournament will be played with 16 squads of 4 in First Person Perspective.
Sunday will see the final games played at around 2pm GMT, and ending at around 5:30pm.
Fans have also had some good news concerning the use of keyboard support for PUBG.
With mouse and keyboard support yet to be officially implemented on Xbox One, some users are using unofficial adaptors to gain an advantage in shooting games like PUBG.
One fan asked Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra if the company had any plans to block mouse and keyboard adaptors on Xbox One.
And by the sounds of it, Microsoft isn’t planning on blocking the adaptors from working.
“Developers have the choice to use APIs that detect and not allow these,” Ybarra said. “It’s up to them, but the capability is there.”
Ybarra’s reasoning is that mouse and keyboard support can have accessibility benefits.
“We could but there are helpful scenarios with these devices (accessibility for one),” he continued. “Our general approach is to empower the developer to manage their game how they want.”
It’s good news for any Xbox One owner currently using the technology, but bad news for users who have been on the receiving end of a thrashing in games like Battlegrounds.
