Six Nations 2018: Fight breaks out BEFORE Scotland vs England with Owen Farrell involved

Teams usually end their on-pitch warm-ups at different times to prevent any unnecessary confrontations.

However, at Murrayfield, both teams found themselves filing off the pitch and back to the changing rooms at the same time.

And emotions appear to have boiled over with the BBC reporting that a “scuffle” involving multiple players had to be broken up.

Scotland captain John Barclay reportedly played peace-maker with Owen Farrell one of the England players who had to be pulled away just a few minutes before kick-off.

“As both sets of players left the field after warming up they came off the pitch together and there was a scuffle at the mouth of the tunnel,” BBC reporter Sonja Mclaughlin said.

“Owen Farrell was involved, Scotland captain John Barclay had to pull away a number of his players and Farrell was pulled away by some of his teammates.

“A real edge and you wonder if some of that might now spill over into this game.”

The spat goes against England’s talk in the build-up where they had tried to play down the rivalry.

“If you’re talking about this game, going up to Scotland, I wouldn’t be able to tell you the history,” said England replacement Ben Te’o.

“It doesn’t really affect me. Every now and again the boys will mention a game they played in.

“Maybe they were going for a Grand Slam and bombed it or didn’t play well.

“But I can’t say we sit around talking about stuff like that.

“This environment is about looking forward. I wouldn’t say I’m a person who needs emotion, to look back on games or rev myself up.

“The confidence is all in the preparation. Do all the little things right during the week, know your stuff, prepare well, then go out and play rugby.”
