Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher warns of fallout from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transfer

Lacazette’s place as Arsenal’s leading striker is now under threat following the arrival of Aubameyang on transfer deadline day.

The Gabon international is expected to slot straight into Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up when they face Everton tomorrow.

But that leaves question marks over Lacazette’s future with the club and where his position currently lies.

There have been suggestions the France international could occupy a wide role much like Alexis Sanchez did before he left for Manchester United.

However, Carragher doesn’t see how Lacazette and Aubameyang can line up alongside each other.

“I think Arsenal have done great business and business is the key word to spend just under £12million and get Aubameyang in, who is over the last year or so rated as one of the top strikers in Europe,” Carragher said.

“They got Mkhitaryan in, Sanchez has gone the other way – a player who didn’t want to be there.

“Also they got Mesut Ozil to sign a new contract.

“I can’t help thinking that with Aubameyang coming in, there is no way he can form a partnership with Lacazette at all.

“They both look like penalty-box strikers.

“I could actually see Lacazette moving on in the summer.”
