Rashford may leave Man Utd

15:23: Marcus Rashford may have to leave Manchester United to protect his international career, reckons Matt Le Tissier.

“I wouldn’t have thought at this stage (that he will look to leave),” Le Tissier said.

“I think it’s still pretty early on in his career still, I’m not sure it’s at a stage where he feels ‘I’ve got to get away from here’.

“The only reason he probably would is if he’s looking at his England squad place being threatened.

“I think if that starts to happen, and I don’t think it will, then he has to look at the situation and think ‘hang on a minute, if I want to be playing regular for my country, I’ve got to be playing regular at a club somewhere’.

“And at that stage he might look to move on but he’s still a young boy.”

Hazard to Real Madrid

15:15: Charlie Nicholas reckons Eden Hazard already knows he will leave Chelsea for Real Madrid.

“He looks very content within himself,” the Scot said of Hazard.

“I don’t think I can recall him being happier in terms of his own personality.”

Soccer Saturday presenter Jeff Stelling jumped in and asked Nicholas: “Dare I, the cynic in me, dare I ask does that mean he is happy because he knows he’s going to be leaving?

Nicholas responded: “It’s a possibility. He knows he’s in such a strong position.

“He’s had the ultimate dip of from when he went from superstar footballer to just an average footballer.

“We thought ‘how could that happen to somebody with his talent?’. And I think a lot of people when ‘I’m not sure if you’re ready for Real Madrid or someone like that’.

“Now he probably is because I think he is more assure of himself, he’s more confident that these people do want him.”

Aubameyang update

14:30: Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc says they will not sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal unless the offer suits them.

“Either our demands are met, then there may be still a transfer,” Zorc told Sky Sports Germany.

“But, if they are not fulfilled then Auba plays until the summer in Dortmund. So it is discussed by the way also with the family Aubameyang and accepted.

“Arsenal has started several attempts that we have declined, so I can not say how it will end at the moment.”

Ronaldo on future

13:50: Cristiano Ronaldo insists he has no plans to leave Real Madrid.

“I love this club and I want to stay here,” Ronaldo said.

“I love living here, I like the weather, people and I’m close to Portugal.

“Madrid is my city since 2009.”

Dzeko’s family don’t want Chelsea

13:17: Edin Dzeko’s family want the striker to snub Chelsea.

Gazzetta dello Sport claim his family are happy in Rome.

Chelsea are negotiating with Roma over a transfer of the 31-year-old.

Dzeko himself is said to be wary about coming to Chelsea to be the second-choice striker behind Alvaro Morata.

And the Bosnia forward will have to convince his family of a move to London before he can sign for the Blues.

Sturridge to West Ham

13:13: Liverpool could offload Daniel Sturridge onto West Ham.

Inter Milan want to sign Sturridge, who is surplus to requirements at Liverpool.

But Ladbrokes claim the Hammers’ price on a deal to the London Stadium has plummeted overnight.

Sturridge could be a useful addition to West Ham, who are battling against relegation.

Evans to Arsenal latest

12:27: West Brom have increased their valuation of Arsenal target Jonny Evans to £27m.

Arsenal are eyeing a deal for Evans and Manchester City have withdrawn their interest.

But the Gunners may face a tough battle in negotiation with the Baggies to sign the Northern Ireland international.

The Sun claim West Brom are aware of Arsenal’s interest and have increased their asking price accordingly.

Mahrez to Chelsea

10:00: Ray Parlour believes Riyad Mahrez is good enough to improve Arsenal and Chelsea amid transfer speculation around the Leicester ace.

“I am surprised (he’s still there),” he told Sky Sports’ The Debate.

“Because he’s been superb, he really has.

“He had that run where he didn’t play well and now he’s got back to his best.

“This is the Mahrez that won them the league, him and (Jamie) Vardy. Mahrez would fit into a lot of sides.

“I know my old side was mentioned, Arsenal, but that’s the sort of side he’s got to look at now, he’s got to look at the top six. I’m sure he’d improve quite a few, someone like Chelsea, who knows.”

£100m De Gea swoop

08:00: Real Madrid are reportedly plotting a £500 million summer raid on the Premier League with £100m in David de Gea.

The Champions League holders have long been linked with the Spanish goalkeeper.

And the Daily Mail claim Real have turned their attention back to De Gea after Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga signed a new deal with a £70m buy-out clause.

Lemar ‘agreed’

06:30: Liverpool are ahead of the queue to sign Thomas Lemar in the summer, according to journalist Duncan Castles.

Monaco have now increased their asking price to roughly £89million.

And Castles claims Lemar has already agreed on moving to Anfield with the onus on Liverpool to pay the full price.

“Top of Liverpool’s list, we know they want Thomas Lemar,” Castles told The Transfer Window Podcast.

“We know that Thomas Lemar has agreed to come to the club if they could meet Monaco’s asking price for a transfer fee that they haven’t been prepared to do because Monaco want over €100m.”

Arsenal and Dortmund ‘miles apart’

06:00: Sky Sports reporter Guillem Balague has claimed Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are still miles apart from agreeing a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to move to the Premier League.

The Gabon international is widely expected to join the Gunners before the end of the transfer window, but negotiations have hit a stumbling block in recent days.

Arsenal chief executive, Ivan Gazidis, chief scout Sven Mislintat and contract negotiator Huss Fahmy travelled to Dortmund this week to holds talks with the Bundesliga club.

And while Balague claims the two clubs are still yet to agree a fee, he expects the move to be completed before February 1.

“Aubameyang miles apart, still are Dortmund and Arsenal,” Balague said.

“He’s in the squad to for the Freiburg game on Saturday. It doesn’t take much  sense for him to play because he has told them he wants to leave but we’ll see what happens with that.

“The player will want Arsenal to sort this out as soon as possible. He understands this is a massive investment.”

How Chelsea play key role in Sturridge move

05:30: Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has explained how Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi’s future could determine where Daniel Sturridge ends up.

It seems increasingly likely Sturridge will leave the Premier League with both Inter Milan and Sevilla the leading candidates for his signature.

However, Balague claims the La Liga side have yet to push through with a formal approach for the player.

And the Sky Sports reporter goes on to say Inter’s preferred choice would be to take Batshuayi from Chelsea.

“In the eyes of Liverpool it’s either Inter or Sevilla but Sevilla are there,” Balague said.

“The problem is they are on stand-by. They haven’t given the green light to the Sturridge situation. There is contact with the player, his representatives and his family.

“But nothing is moving on because Inter want Batshuayi. Batshuayi is the No 1  target but it looks also very unlikely because for that to happen.”
