Swap deal for Evans: Pardew responds

17:00: Arsenal have offered Mathieu Debuchy to West Brom as a makeweight in the deal for Jonny Evans, reports claim.

According to the Daily Star, the north London club have made a £10million bid plus Debuchy for the centre-back.

The Baggies are having a tough season and offloading Evans could give Alan Pardew the funds he needs to strengthen the entire squad.

And Arsenal are hoping to take advantage of this, hence the relatively low bid for the 30-year-old.

Arsene Wenger’s side are also aware Evans has a relegation release clause, allowing the defender to leave for just £3m.

However, Pardew has denied the swap deal and insisted a suitable offer for Evans is yet to be received by the club.

“That is not a deal we would be interested in and it’s not a deal that has been put to us either,” Pardew said.”

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal

16:45: Arsenal have may have received a breakthrough in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gunners have been strongly linked with a move for the wantaway Gabonese forward, 28, and are believed to have seen a £50million bid rejected.

Dortmund are said to have dug their heels in, hoping to make £60million from the sale of Aubameyang.

However, there’s been a twist in the tale.

German outlet Sport1 claim Dortmund could compromise on the fee, and are prepared to accept £57m – which would be a club-record fee for Arsenal.

Moura signs for Spurs

16:30: Arsenal appear to have lost out to Tottenham in a deal to sign Lucas Moura.

RMC Sport in France claim Moura has signed a contract at Spurs.

The four-year deal will supposedly see Moura, 25, earn the same salary as his current PSG wage.

The Brazilian has played just six games for PSG all season.
