Xbox One Backwards Compatibility update: SIX new Xbox 360 games LIVE from Microsoft

New Xbox 360 games have been added to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility library this week.

A total of six new games have been released by Microsoft, who took a break from launching titles in December.

They’ve come back with a bang in January though, adding a lot of new games in the past week.

The new Backwards Compatible games from the Xbox 360 launched in two waves, three on Tuesday and another three on Thursday.

And all six are now available to download and play, be it from disc, or from an existing games library selection.

The most recent Microsoft inclusions are all from the same franchise, with Magic 2013, Magic 2014 — Duels of the Planeswalkers and Magic: The Gathering, live.

The Magic series don’t have quite so many votes as others games on the official Xbox site, however, this does bode quite well for the future.

It appears Microsoft are willing to keep adding titles, even those who aren’t top of the list of their most-wanted games list.

It’s great news for hardcore fans who are hoping to fill their Xbox 360 classic collections with more obscure choices.

Microsoft’s first batch of Xbox One Backwards Compatibility games in 2018 weren’t revealed into earlier this week.

Getting off to a strong start, Xbox’s Larry Hryb revealed three new Xbox 360 games that would be made playable.

Sniper Elite V2, Far Cry 2 and Driver San Francisco should now all available as part of the Backwards Compatible library.

Sniper Elite V2 is the most-wanted for of the three, according to the official Backwards Compatibility website, which includes fans votes on which games to include.

Over 13,000 people voted for Sniper Elite V2, more than 12,000 for Far Cry 2 and just under 5,000 for Driver San Francisco.

The tech giant doesn’t usually give prior warning to what they are planning to add, so fans will have to wait and see what, if anything, pops up.

And while Microsoft have yet to confirm what other new games will be released in 2018, there’s one new item that might catch the eye of fans.

Hyperkin have released a big new update on the price and release window of their Xbox “Duke” controller recreation.

Perfect for playing classic titles on, The Duke will be returning at the end of March and will retail for around $69.99.

Hyperkin have already confirmed that it will be a limited release, meaning there going to sell out fast.

Original Xbox designer Seamus Blackley is behind the re-release, which has the full blessing of Microsoft to move forward.
