Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley leaves Rey behind as she reveals VERY different new character

For a start, it’s a rabbit.

Ridley plays Cotton Tail in the new Peter Rabbit caper, which also features her Star Wars co-star Domhnall Gleeson.

She plays Cotton-Tail, and says in a new featurette that the character is a real “loose canon”.

“Cotton-Tail represents the sort of loose canon,” she said.

“She is a little bit mental… she’s awesome.”

Ridley stars alongside the likes of James Corden and Margot Robbie in the film, with Rose Byrne joining Gleeson in a human role.

The synopsis reads: “In Peter Rabbit, the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers now takes on the starring role of his own contemporary comedy.

“In the film, Peter’s feud with Mr. McGregor escalates to greater heights than ever before as their fight to gain control of McGregor’s coveted vegetable garden and the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door extends to the Lake District and London.”

It’s one of several projects on the horizon for Ridley, away from the LucasFilm Star Wars galaxy.

Also this year she’ll be seen in the title role in Ophelia, a new perspective on Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

Peter Rabbit is in cinemas from March 16.
