Jodie Foster SLAMS superhero movies ‘They’re RUINING cinema-goers’

The 55-year-old star is best known for her roles in The Silence of the Lambs and Bugsy Malone and is also a film director.

Her latest production is Arkangel, a standalone episode in the anthology series Black Mirror season 4.

During an interview with the Radio Times, she revealed her distain for superhero movies made on huge budgets.

Foster said: “Going to the movies has become like a theme park.”

Foster continued: “Studios making bad content in order to appeal to the masses and shareholders is like fracking – you get the best return right now but you wreck the earth.

“It’s ruining the viewing habits of the American population and then ultimately the rest of the world.

“I don’t want to make $200 million  (£150 million) movies about superheroes.”

However when asked  if there was a situation where she could see herself making a superhero movie, Foster did relent slightly.

She said: “[I’d consider it only if they had] really complex psychology”.

Black Mirror Seasons 1-4 is streaming on Netflix now.
