Melania Trump Christmas selfie criticised by internet users – ‘I miss Michelle’

Melania Trump, the 47-year-old First Lady of the United States and wife of President Donald Trump, posted a selfie on the social media site Instagram yesterday.

The Slovenian former-model used a filter on the app to add a hat to her head, and glittery reindeer to the image.

The stunning FLOTUS pouted in the picture, showing off her heavy smokey eye make-up, contoured cheek bones and pink lips.

Her hair was sleek and she appeared to be wearing a white dressing gown or a fluffy coat. However, some internet users were not impressed with the picture.

Some even claimed the innocuous image made them pine for the previous First Lady Michelle Obama.

One said: “Stay classy Melania. I miss Michelle.”

Melania was compared to another famous First Lady after posting the image.

They said: “Eleanor Roosevelt once posted very same selfie…and the special cases that support your husband say you’re classy…Unbelievable!”

Another Twitter user wrote: “This can’t be happening America. Please God say it is just a nightmare.”

However, numerous fans praised the selfie from the First Lady. One Twitter user wrote: “@FLOTUS snaps festive Christmas selfie she is absolutely stunning #FirstClass all the way!”

One Instagram user said, “Great picture of our FLOTUS!” and another wrote: “I think you look ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS in this picture who cares what people think.”

Melania’s Christmas style was very festive this year, as she took part in a charity event with her husband Donald, 71.

She wore a red dress as she joined Donald Trump taking phone calls from children tracking Santa on Christmas Eve, before changing into black for church.

They then visit midnight Mass or a service on Christmas Day. The family has two religious beliefs to cater for as Melania is Catholic.

The First Lady also revealed what the family eat on the big day, on which food plays a major part for most families.

She said the family eats “healthy food”, adding: “You feel very good after. Not too much eating.”

Of course the family have their presents, and Melania said: “On the 25th, Santa comes. We open the presents and spend time together.”
