Man City boss Pep Guardiola makes defender Milan Skriniar No 1 January transfer target

Guardiola who is watching his side run away with the Premier League title has ear marked Slovakian international Skriniar as his next big signing.

The 22 year-old has been in stunning form for Inter this season but has set his sights on a move to the Premier League.

Guardiola wants to bring at least one more central defender into his squad as he looks to challenge for four major honours in the second half of the season.

Southampton central defender Virgil Van Dijk, who is also wanted by Liverpool and Chelsea, is also on the list of players under consideration.

Skriniar has established himself as the best young central defender in Europe this season and along with John Stones could be the cornerstone of Manchester City’s defence for years to come.

Inter are believed to be willing to listen to offers from City as they look to boost their own transfer coffers for a summer spending spree.
