A £2 coin is selling for £1,000 on eBay, thanks to a rare minting error.
The two pound coin is one of a number of rare coins that have been damaged during the minting process, making them quite the find for collectors.
This coin is the Charles Dickens £2 coin, which was minted in 2012 to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens.
The author wrote great books such as Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, Bleak House and Little Dorrit.
The design was created by Matthew Dent, and 8,190,000 of the coins were released into circulation.

Royal Mint said of the coin: “In 2012 we were proud to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens, one of our finest writers, with a unique £2 coin that incorporates the titles of Dickens’ great works on its highly inventive reverse.”
The design shows the names of a number of books by Dickens, decorating the reverse side of the coin.
The coin is a hot ticket on eBay, with 28 potential buyers adding it to their ‘watch list’ already.
Seller ‘alanhart09’ said of the item: “Rare Charles Dickens £2 pound coin with mint errors: Text around the edge is upside down, Dots on Queen’s head side are half missing.”
The text around the edge of the coin reads: “Something will turn up.”
Another rare coin celebrating a great British figure has sold for 240 times its original value on eBay.
The Isaac Newton 50p sold on eBay for £120. Only 375 of the coins were released initially at the place of Isaac Newton’s birth, Woolsthorpe Manor in Lincolnshire.
The seller on eBay confirmed that he had received payment for the coin, according to the Daily Star.
A Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit 50p coin is also selling for large amounts on eBay.
The coin has become a sought-after collector’s item with five people currently watching it on the auction website.
