The development team for the popular Battle Royale game have confirmed that a new patch is being released today.
The latest Fortnite update will go live on PS4 and PC first, followed by Xbox One later in the day.
Unlike in the past, Fortnite servers will not be taken offline for lengthy scheduled maintenance, although gamers will likely see some disruption.
The PC and PS4 patch will go live at 4am Eastern Time, which will mean around 9am in the UK.
While the Xbox patch is planned to go live sometime around 9am Eastern Time, Epic Games have warned that the timing on the Xbox patch is subject to change.

“All players will need to close and update their clients. For immediate updates, keep an eye on our Twitter.”
The most recent patch for Fortnite was launched later than first announced, so it shouldn’t comes as much of a surprise if something similar happen today.
Patch V.1.9.0.1 is focused solely on Fortnite Battle Royale, although all players will likely need to restart the game when the short maintenance period arrives.
This latest patch is only concerned with fixing some lingering bugs, such as audio problems when playing in teams.
The full Battle Royale Patch Notes can be found below:
Gameplay
- Fixed an issue which caused raindrops to appear on the screen when one of your teammate’s was in the storm but you were not.
Audio
- Fixed an issue which caused storm audio to persist even after leaving the storm.
- EDIT: Fixed a bug which allowed players to hear glider and umbrella deployment from great distances.
Stability
- Fixed a client crash that could occur when a player deployed their glider.
The game’s last update – patch 1.9 – did in fact add a new item, the Launch Pad Trap.
More on the new Launch Pads now live in-game:
Battle Royale Launch Pads: “Prepare your gliders. The Launch Pad trap flings players high into the air and lets you re-deploy your glider mid-match!
“Traverse the battlefield in style as you soar over any obstacles in your path and surprise your enemies with an aerial assault.
As mentioned above, once deployed, the Launch Pad can be triggered by any player and has unlimited uses but it cannot be picked back up and it can be destroyed like any other trap.
Epic Games have also confirmed that the game’s Fortnitemares event is being extended until November 29.
