The 31-year-old, who was on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs Carlos Takam in Cardiff on Saturday, picked up a cut in her victory over Anahi Sanchez.
But after having her injury reassessed, Taylor, who became a world champion in just her seventh fight as a professional, will be back in action on December 15.
However, as of yet, an opponent for the bout has not been confirmed.
Speaking about her world title defence, Taylor said: “It’s going to be a great end to the year, I hope.”
Taylor could face ABO American champion Jessica McCaskill next, with the Ireland star’s promoter Eddie Hearn supposedly keen to arrange that fight.

“But it was always in the pipeline to box at home in Dublin at some stage. I can’t wait for that homecoming fight.
“When I first turned pro I wanted to unify the division.
“Next year in Dublin we plan on unifying the belts and it’s something I’ve always dreamed of.”
