The suspect is still on the run following the incident, which took place on Randall Avenue.
The condition of the victims is currently unknown amid police investigations
The area is reportedly an active crime scene as emergency services race to respond to the incident.
It comes as the city still reels from a terror attack earlier in the day after a pickup truck drove the wrong way down a cycle path in a “cowardly” terror attack near the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio described the attack, which killed eight and injured 11, as a “cowardly act of terror aimed at innocent civilians”.
