Avengers Infinity War: Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye CONFIRMED as Ronin by Avengers 4 set photo

Filming is currently underway on 2019’s Avengers 4, the second part of next year’s Avengers: Infinity War.

Now a new set photo of Renner has been captured and fans have realised it confirms Hawkeye will become Ronin.

The main reason for their confidence is his shin guards which match that of Ronin – an identity Clint Barton (Hawkeye) dons following the events of Civil War.

This ties in perfectly with the story arc of the movies, since Hawkeye last appeared in Captain America: Civil War, when he joined Team Cap.

Having been defeated and detained by Iron Man/Tony Stark, it makes sense for him to adopt a new identity as he goes rogue with Captain America.

– meaning man without a country.

Marvel comic book fans will know Nomad as the new identity Captain America adopted after becoming disillusioned with the US government.

This ties in with Steve’s negative reaction to the Sokovia Accords, which wanted to regulate the activities of the Avengers.

With the Avengers divided, they’ll certainly have their work cut out for them as Thanos attacks Earth in search of the Infinity Stones.

Avengers: Infinity War is released in UK cinemas on April 27, 2018, while Avengers 4 will follow on April 26, 2019.
