Sky Sports Managing Director Barney Francis said: “Kevin presented our NFL and basketball coverage for over 15 years and he did so much to inform and entertain the growing fan bases these sports enjoy in the UK and Ireland.
“In a week that will see yet another NFL sell-out crowd on these shores, we should recognise the impact he made. He was a great guy, an excellent colleague and we will all miss him very much. Our thoughts are with his friends and family.”
Cadle was named coach of the year eight times between 1984 and 1997 and became as well-known face on British TV for his enthusiastic punditry of the NFL.
In addition to his positions in international basketball, which included that with Great Britain during the 1992 Olympic qualifiers, he coached London Towers, Glasgow, Kingston and Guildford.
During a similarly successful broadcasting career, he became established on Sky Sports as one of the most recognisable figures for both the NFL and NBA coverage.
