Yvonne Goder, 33, has spent the past three weeks in the Indian Ocean nation and has tracked down a man she believes is her father Benjamin.
She last saw him at the age of two.
Mauritius police are taking her claims seriously and Yvonne says they have interviewed the man.
Yvonne’s mother Efi Goder-Marsh, 61, who lives in Harlow, Essex, has given information about her “late” husband to British officers as part of an international investigation.
Last year the Sunday Express reported the pair’s claim that Benjamin Goder’s coffin at Hoddesdon cemetery in Hertfordshire is empty.

The gravestone says he died in July 1986 but Efi is convinced he faked his death and fled to his native Mauritius to escape the fallout from a dubious import and export firm.
Efi, who went on to remarry and have a son with her second husband, added: “I think we have finally tracked him down. It’s over.”
She said although Benjamin seemed well, in the summer of 1986 he said he was dying of cancer, shocking Efi.
At the time she had two young daughters, Yvonne and Andri, while pregnant with the third, Benita.
She did not see his body in the coffin and few mourners turned up at the funeral.
The death certificate gave the cause of death as hepatitis.
There was no mention of cancer.
“His business world was crashing around him and he wanted a way out. I believe his sickness was an elaborate con trick,” said Efi.
For years she has been trying to get his grave dug up to see if there are any remains in the coffin.
She added: “Now that he has been found I think they will have to dig the grave up, although it will be very upsetting for me as my later father was buried in the same plot.”
Mauritius police confirmed they were investigating.
