Man Utd news: Zlatan Ibrahimovic boost with striker set to return to full-time training

Ibrahimovic has been out of action since he ruptured his cruciate ligament back in April and was released by Manchester United in July.

The 36-year-old has since rejoined the Red Devils on a new one-year deal after impressing in his recovery.

He has spent the majority of his time in Manchester recovering, but has also traveled back to his native Sweden for part of his rehabilitation.

And according to ESPN, Ibrahimovic is set to step up his recovery next month by visiting United’s AON training complex on a full-time basis.

Ibrahimovic enjoyed an impressive debut campaign at Old Trafford last term, scoring 28 goals to help Jose Mourinho’s side back into the Champions League.

Mourinho recently warned the former Sweden international not to rush his return, with United coping fine with £75million summer signing Romelu Lukaku leading the forward line. 

The United manager said: “I think we need him. We wait for him, but with patience. He has to be patient.

“He doesn’t have to be emotional and he doesn’t have to try to make crazy things to improve [recover] quicker in his mind.

“Because I know that his desire is to improve quicker. So, calm – [take things] step by step. We want him, but we want him in his best condition.”
