Nibiru, or Planet X as it is also known, is a theorised planet which may be lurking on the edge of our solar system and has a huge orbit.
Conspiracy theorists believe that it is a rogue planet, making its way from the outer solar system inwards, where it will wreak havoc on Earth.
But some top physicists believe that there is a possibility the theoretical planet could be part of our solar system, but so far out that its orbit of the sun could take millions of years.
In 1985, Daniel Whitmire, a maths instructor from the University of Arkansas, published a paper arguing the existence of a planet on the edge of the solar system.
More recently, Mr Whitmire has said the planet could be responsible for comets hitting Earth.

Put simply, the mathematician believes the mysterious planet orbits the sun like every other planet in our solar system, but every 26-27 million years it passes through an asteroid belt known as the Kuiper belt.
When it travels through this region, it causes comets and asteroids to deflect off it and fire out into the universe or towards our sun.
If Nibiru travels towards our host star, Earth inevitably gets caught in the crossfire, causing large space rocks to come raining down on our planet.
Whitmire argues this may have occurred 64 million years ago, resulting in the extinction of the dinosaurs and claims to have evidence to back this theory up.
An article published on the University of Arkansas’ website reads: “In 1985, a look at the paleontological record supported the idea of regular comet showers dating back 250 million years.
”Newer research shows evidence of such events dating as far back as 500 million years.”
However, he fails to disclose any of the “evidence”.
Paranormal researchers believe that Planet X is now approaching Earth following its huge orbit.
Website Planet X News writes: “Several Earth changes that are now ongoing are indicators of increased Earth wobble which in turn should tell us a pole shift event is imminent.
“All this indicates to us that the Nibiru system has arrived in our neighbourhood, the inner solar system.
“This Earth wobble has intensified even more within this last month (August) and so has the extreme weather.
“What has happened along the coasts of South America has shown how intense this Earth wobble phenomenon has become.”
