That is the opinion of former Arsenal forward and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson.
Sanchez wanted to leave the Gunners for Manchester City and a bid of £55million was accepted for him on transfer deadline day.
However, Arsenal were not able to source a replacement, with Monaco’s Thomas Lemar turning down a late move, so Sanchez stayed at the Emirates.
The Chile international is out of contract at the end of the season and could leave the club for free if he does not sign a new deal.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was in the same situation as Alexis Sanchez but he was allowed to complete a move away, joining Liverpool for £35million.

Merson does not think Sanchez will be happy but reckons he will knuckle down until the next transfer window in January at least.
“I can’t see him being happy,” Merson said on Sky Sports.
“I can’t see him being happy, it was a big bid.
“His contract is nearly up, they’ve let Oxlade-Chamberlain go.
“I think he will be very unsettled but he only plays one way.
“He works his socks off and I think he will give his all for the club for probably another six months.”
Sanchez is set to make his first home appearance of the season tomorrow when Arsenal host Bournemouth (3pm).
