‘North Korea is BEGGING for war’ US warns Kim ‘our patience is not unlimited’ in threat

The US ambassador to the United Nations (UN) said “enough is enough” and insisted the time for a diplomatic resolution was running out. 

Speaking in New York this afternoon, Nikki Haley said: “Our country’s patience is not unlimited.”

It comes after  carried out its sixth nuclear test at the weekend sparking an earthquake with hits hydrogen bomb experiment. 

Referring to , Ms Haley said: “His abusive use of missiles and his nuclear threats show that he is begging for war. 

“War is never something the United States wants. We don’t want it now. But our country’s patience is not unlimited.

“We will defend out allies and our territory. When a rogue regime has a nuclear weapon and an ICBM (inter-continental ballistic missile) pointed at you, you do not take steps to lower your guard. No one would do that. We certainly won’t.”

She said it was time to take the threat of North Korea nuclear strength seriously as 24 years of no progress.

Ms Haled said “for more than 20 years North Korea has defied our collective voice” and called for an extreme response. She said the UN security council has been “too slow and too weak” in the past. 

Ms Haley said North Korea missile system was now “more advanced than ever”, following the missile test above Japan last week. 

She continued: “Just this morning there were reports the regime were preparing for yet another ICBM launch. 

“To the members of the security council I must say: enough is enough.”

She said Kim Jong-un shows “no such understanding” of the responsibility of being a nuclear power. 

Ms Haley said “only the strongest sanctions” would work, adding: “We have kicked the can down the road long enough. There is no road left.”

She said anyone who does business with North Korea will be seen as giving aid to a country perpetuating nuclear disaster. 

In a dire warning, the US ambassador said: “The stakes could not be higher.”

Britain also hit out, with the UK’s representative driving home the threat posed by Kim’s rogue state. 

Matthew Rycroft said: “North Korea poses a threat not simply to its region but truly to global peace and security.”

It comes after yet another North Korea nuclear threat last weekend, with rumours growing of another provocative launch in the near future. 

Last week a missile was fired above Japan, startling millions of civilians on the ground below. Terrified citizens were woken by emergency alerts urging them to seek shelter and warning of a North Korean missile flying above.
