Winds of Winter: Night King theory finally ANSWERED by Bran Stark actor

It is the hottest (or iciest) tehory right now among Game of Thrones fan.

Is young Bran Strak somehow alos magically the Night King?

Did he use his warging and greenseer powers to travel back in time to change the course of history but somehow get overpowered and joined with the terrifying leader of the white walkers?

Did you even manage to follow all of that? It sounds as complicated as anything from George RR Martin’s cunning mind but fans even spotted a huge clue in the final episoide of Season Seven of the HBO adaptation.

When the Night King dramatically lead his army out of the frozen north one clever viewer freeze-framed the scene.

As the huge army spread across the snow it appeared to form the very distinct shape of a direwolf. The image is so precise it can not be a coincidence. But does it really confirm that Bran and the Night King are intimately linked?

Now that the show has finished its run on television, actor Isaac Hempstead-Wright is finally able to answer.

He toold Vulture: I think it’s less that they’re the same person and more that they’re two of the ancient beings of Westeros.

“The Three-Eyed Raven has been around for God knows how long, and White Walkers have been reported since the beginning of time. As we’ve seen, they were created by the Children of the Forest, so we can’t get much more ancient than that.

“Perhaps we can think of it as these are two characters with a huge amount of power, but one is a Frankenstein’s monster who is driven by nothing but hatred and violence. Then there’s Bran, who uses his powers for good.”

Hempstead-Wright added: “We’ll see whether they have any kind of explanations in the next season. Hopefully we’ll find out cool stuff about both of those characters.

“We haven’t gotten the scripts for the next season and this one’s just finished. I can properly theorize and chat, because I don’t know anything that’s going to happen.”

Fans disappointed that the star seemed to destroy their theory should focus on the last line. He really doesn’t know either way.

Hopefully George RR Martin will finish Book Six and put us out of our misery before Westros (or hell) freezes over.
