South Korea crisis EXCLUSIVE video: International stars join forces with new anthem

Some of the biggest names in music have come together to create an anthem to raise awareness of one of the world’s most pressing issues – the crisis in Korea and the world’s only divided country.

Korean Dream is a non-profit single that reflects the dream of the One K Global Campaign, the brainchild behind the record.

In 2015, the One K Global Campaign was launched as a part of a popular movement for Korean reunification and to contribute to a larger effort to advance regional peace and global security.

The Masterminds behind the track are Producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, the multi-Grammy-winning team behind number one hits for Janet Jackson, George Michael, Mariah Carey, The Human League and Usher.

They have joined forces with Peabo Bryson, famous for his duets with Celine Dion, Roberta Flack and Chaka Khan, for his Grammy awards and for singing the themes to Disney’s Beauty & the Beast and ‘A Whole New World’ from Aladdin.

The moving track features Korean-born Australian X Factor winner Dami Im who took Australia to second place at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.

The most famous singers in Korea – Jung Dongha and K-pop boy band Voisper – also lend their voices to the cause, alongside Filipino singers Edray, Sabrina and Zendee and American Lauren Evans.

Songwriter and producer Terry Lewis says: “I think music reaches right into the soul of someone.

“It doesn’t matter what language, doesn’t matter whether you are young or old or where you are from. A great song can really uplift and provide the soundtrack for the people to do whatever it is they want to do.”
