Atletico and Chelsea talks
11:25: Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are locked in talks over Diego Costa.
The Mirror say negotiations are moving – albeit slowly – for Atletico to sign Costa and, with the Spanish giants under a transfer ban until January, then send the striker out on loan.
Atletico will be keen to get the deal done even earlier than the midnight deadline, with Champions League group-stage squads needing to be in by 11pm with UEFA.

10:45: Cesar Azpilicueta hopes Diego Costa’s situation gets resolved today.
He told Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport: “I can’t say a great deal [about Costa] other than that he is my team-mate at club and international level and at the moment he is not with us in either of the two squads.
“I hope the situation can be resolved.
“It’s an issue between the club and the player and, no, I’ve not acted as intermediary. It’s something they need to sort out between themselves and let’s see what happens after the market has closed.
“Certainly [Spain coach Julen] Lopetegui would have been glad to have had him here, but he’s not been training for ages.”

09:30: Diego Costa will be desperate to finish today NOT still a Chelsea player.
The transfer window in Spain does not shut until midnight tonight, despite the deadline passing in the UK and most of Europe at 11pm last night.
Costa is still in Brazil where he has spent most of this summer trying to engineer a transfer back to Atletico Madrid.
