The 79-year-old expat was briefly mistaken for a terrorist after smashing his car into terrace tables a week after the attack in Barcelona’s Las Ramblas when a van mowed down and killed 13 people.
Three people were hurt in the incident at Los Patos restaurant in Puerto Alcudia in the north of Majorca.
Two of the victims, a Spaniard and an Italian, were taken to hospital with light injuries but the third suffered a broken leg.
Four tables were hit by the out-of-control Renault Koleos.
Police were on the scene within minutes and confirmed it was a traffic accident, as restaurant workers realised when they saw the OAP at the wheel.

Officers said it appeared the pensioner had invaded the restaurant terrace after speeding forward instead of reversing in his automatic car, although it was not immediately clear toda if the incident was the result of a pedal failure or human error.
The scare happened at around 10.30pm last night.
