The Charlemont Rise suburb in Geelong, Victoria has various streets named after characters in the series – including Snow, Stannis and Greyjoy.
But locals were less happy with Lannister road, with one resident complaining that characters housed the name were an incestuous couple.
The resident’s complaints refer to Cerise and her brother Jaime Lannister, who are in a relationship in the world renowned TV series.
The project manager of the new development, Gary Smith, dismissed the concerns.
He said: “They objected to that fact that it had a reference to incest.

“It’s a fictional series.

But the name was struck off by the local authority, and changed to the less contentious Precinct Road.
City of Greater Geelong administrator Laurinda Gardner said road names should not “be detrimental to the preservation of longstanding community values”.
The TV inspired street monikers were brought in after the suburb’s developers struggled to think of new names for the area.
Mr Smith added: “You’ve got to think outside the box – we were getting so many names rejected.

The latest series is set to come to its dramatic conclusion in the coming week in an episode entitled the Dragon and the Wolf.
