Trump’s spiritual guide claims challenging the President is ‘fighting the hand of God’

Paula White, who chairs the President’s evangelical advisory board, said she was glad Trump was not a “polished politician” as it reflected the promises of scripture.

She said: “And they even say about him ‘He’s not presidential’.

“Thank goodness, thank goodness!

“And I mean that with all due respect.

“Because in other words, he’s not a polished politician.

“In other words, he’s authentically – whether people like it or not – has been raised up by God.

“Because God says that he raises up and places all people in places of authority.

“It is God that raises up a king, it is God that sets one down and so when you fight against the plan of God, you’re fighting against the hand of God.”

Her comments may be in relation to Romans 13:1, which reads: “The authorities that exist have been appointed by God.

“Consequently, the one who resists authority is opposing what God has set in place, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.”

It comes after a leading US pastor declared Trump had been granted the authority “by God” to “take out Kim Jong–un” with “fire and fury”.

Robert Jeffress, a senior pastor of a Texas megachurch, backed the President and said he has the moral authority to launch an attack on North Korea.

Mr Jeffress is the pastor of the 12,000 member First Baptist Church in Dallas and hosts a television programme that is broadcast on 1,200 channels in the US and 28 other countries.

Mr Jeffress said: “When it comes to how we should deal with evil doers, the Bible, in the book of Romans, is very clear: God has endowed rulers full power to use whatever means necessary — including war — to stop evil.

“In the case of North Korea, God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong-un.”
