Jeremy Clarkson: ‘They’re escaping’ Grand Tour host tries to save latest TV venture

The Grand Tour host Jeremy Clarkson, 59, recently swapped cars for farming ahead of his new solo Amazon show based on the farm.

But, it appears as though the presenter hasn’t got off to a good start as he shared a video of seagulls pecking away at his crops.

At first, Jeremy shared a picture of him seeing to his crops from his tractor’s driving seat.

As he got closer to the crops, seagulls could be seen moving away.

The former Top Gear host shared the picture in view of his 2.4 million followers with the caption: “I’ve decided to plant seagulls this year #newtofarming.”

He captioned the video: “S**t. My crops are escaping #newtofarming.”

Many of the presenter’s fans flocked to his page to comment.

One user wrote: “They’re eating the seeds probably, you won’t have any crops.”

A second commented: “You need your sports tractor to catch them!”

“Did you grow them yourself?” a third queried.

Jeremy announced his new farming adventure for his new show back in May.

Rumours suggested the new show will be called I Bought A Farm, but Jeremy denied this on Twitter.

In view of his 7.2 million followers, he wrote: “Dear the newspapers.

“Contrary to what you think, the Amazon series I’m making is not called ‘I bought A farm’. Because that makes no sense.”

Discussing his new venture, Jeremy said the show will not be like BBC’s hit show Countryfile.

He told Sunday Times: “This is not Kate Humble – much as I like Kate Humble – with 20 acres, bottle-feeding a lamb.

“Or a TV presenter who grows veg in his back garden This is actual farming: Life, death and form filling.”

He added: “We’re not making Countryfile. We’ll be showing it warts and all.

“For example, I have no view on badger culling in terms of whether it’s necessary, but if it’s happening we will not shy away from putting it in the programme.”
