Zoe Ball: ‘Wow strong choice…’ BBC Radio 2 host reacts as ‘Peaky Blinders’ clip resurfaces

Zoe Ball, 48, is primarily a radio DJ and the host of BBC Two spin-off show, Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, but before that she was well versed in interviewing famous faces. The BBC Radio 2 presenter has now taken to Twitter to share a throwback clip, which saw her preparing to interview 90s rock band Oasis. But what appeared to shock Zoe most, was less about who she was interviewing, but more to do with her outfit. The radio broadcaster rocked a pair of baggy jeans and a sports jacket but it was the oversized flat cap she teamed with the look which got Twitter users’ attention.

The very large grey flat cap kept her signature blond tresses tucked inside, as a younger Zoe geared herself up to meet Liam and Noel Gallagher.

In view of her 336,000 followers, the It Takes Two host captioned the clip: “Wow, strong cap choice Ball…”

Fans and celeb pals inundated the star with cheeky comments, as many hinted she looked like a cast mate from Peaky Blinders.

BBC Radio One DJ Jo Whiley, joked: “Oh my god. This is priceless!”

Zoe was quizzed about who would replace Strictly contestant Jamie Laing after it was announced he was no longer taking part in the show.

She told listeners: “I don’t know.

“Well, they’ll either get another partner. I mean I don’t even know. Believe me I was trying to find out the gossip yesterday.”

“They won’t tell me anything,” she admitted.

Zoe continued: “I don’t know why. Maybe because I’m on the radio and I might tell people before I’m supposed to.”

She added there was a “desperate panic” to find a replacement.

It has since been revealed that Emmerdale actor Kevin Flecther will replace the Made In Chelsea reality star on the BBC programme.

Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show airs weekdays at 6.30am.
