Back in 1988 the world was introduced to Die Hard: an action movie about an off-duty cop turned vigilante, trapped in a skyscraper as terrorists held office works hostage on Christmas Eve.
The hit film went on to become a Christmas movie classic and spawn four sequels starring Bruce Willis’ John McClane, with the latest outing being 2013’s A Good Day to Die Hard.
Now the 62-year-old star is returning for a sixth movie called Die Hard: Year One, according to Digital Spy.
However this won’t be the usual formula for the franchise, but a part-prequel, part-sequel set partly in present day, but also with a younger actor playing McClane as a rookie cop in 1979 – long before he threw Alan Rickman’s Hans Gruber off Nakatomi Plaza.
So who could play a young John McClane? One possibility is Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who portrayed a younger version of Willis’ character in time travel thriller, Looper.
