Chris Evans: Virgin radio host seeks advice on son’s manners – ‘sit down and teach them'

Chris told listeners that Noah might be losing his manners as he forgets to say please and thank you. The 53-year-old quizzed a behavioural expert on the show about what to do. The father-of-five was assured it was usual for Noah to act like this as his brain is in the biggest developing period.

Speaking on his Virgin Radio Breakfast Show, Chris said: “My 10-year-old used to say please and thank you all the time, and he’s just started to stop doing that.”

“I had a word with him over the weekend and it wasn’t going in.

“How do I best part information to my 10-year-old?”

Chris was joined by brain surgeon Dr Rahul Jandial on the show who assured him of Noah’s behaviour.

Dr Jandial, author of ‘Life Lessons of A Brain Surgeon’, told Chris about his own children.

He said: “I travel with them, I take them around with them, cook for them.

“I don’t sit down and teach them much but they’re more receptive to learning the points I’m trying to make when they’re engaged in this way.”

The reassurance comes after Chris previously said Noah could “lead climate change”.

Chris told listeners his son is a huge climate change advocate.

He explained the 10-year-old refused to wash his hair in order to cut back for climate change.

His theory sparked Chris to say he should receive an honour.

Chris told listeners: “Last night, it’s the last school night of the year, before the summer break and he’s itching his head after he’s had a shower.

“And I said ‘Noah, why didn’t you wash your hair?’

“He said, ‘Dad, I only wash my hair once or twice a week’

“I said, ‘Why’s that then?’

“He says, “Well, if I go to bed with my hair wet you tell me off.”

Noah’s answer was to go back to the source and don’t have a shower in the first place.

Chris Evans Virgin Radio Breakfast Show airs weekdays at 6.30am.
