Tommy escapes McCullough’s grasp…but not in the best way

This opens up the Path which McCullough had planned for all along as it would reunite him with his family

In the Path, Kai ends up in control of The Gang’s Wus and bring the group together, similar to what Ying Ying (Celia Au) had done previously.

Mccullough descends deeper in the Path to try and track down his family.

However, later in the finale, it’s not such a happy ending for McCullough.

Kai and McCullough’s feud has a winner

The death of Kai’s father Uncle Six (Byron Mann) played fresh on his mind from earlier in the season.

Seeking vengeance for his death, Kai finally achieved some sort of vengeance by killing McCullough.

Just as he reunited with his family, Kai tracked McCullough down in the Path.

Armed with a sword, it wasn’t enough to stop Kai who stabbed the Scottish gangster through the heart.

The rage continued to take over Kai as held the knife to McCullough’s wife’s throat in plain sight of her son.

Kai rose above it and left McCullough’s family in mourning before a time jump transported him to a present-day kitchen.

Ying Ying’s return sets up season 2

All appeared to be back to the way things were as Kai and his friends and family enjoyed dinner.

CG and Lu Xin Lee (Lewis Tan) shared a brief reunion outside the restaurant as the pair opened up about their struggles coming back to reality.

They share a passionate kiss before the action returns to inside the restaurant where Kai was about to receive an unwelcome surprise.

Kai’s left alone at his table when Ying Ying approaches.

King Ying has a menacing look on her face as she tells Kai: “Sorry Kai, it’s not over yet.

“The world still needs the Wu Assassin.”

The restaurant begins to crumble around them before the credits roll, setting up a truly tantalising second season.

Wu Assassins is available to stream on Netflix now.
