Strictly Come Dancing has started revealing the celebrities who have signed up to take part in the 2019 dance competition. The list of those signed up so far for the BBC show includes David James, Chris Ramsey, Emma Barton, Saffron Barker, Catherine Tyldesley, Mike Bushell, Karim Zeroual and Viscountess Emma Weymouth. Strictly will be coming back this September and here is everything we know so far about the line-up.
Strictly Come Dancing series 17 will be coming to back to our screens this September with another edition of the dance contest.
Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will be back to present the show while new judge Motsi Mabuse joining the 2019 panel.
There are plenty of rumours floating around about who will don their sequins and take to the dance floor this year.
Now, the first three confirmed celebrities in the dancing competition have been announced on The One Show.

Who is in the cast of Strictly Come Dancing 2019?
David James
David James was the first celebrity to be revealed on The One Show this evening.
David is a 48-year-old former professional footballer who has previously played for Aston Villa, Liverpool and West Ham.
During his appearance on The One Show, he told presenters Matt Baker and Stacey Dooley that he was excited to learn how to dance.
David said: “Shellshocked? Yeah (I am), I’ve had to keep it a secret for so long.
“I told one person, I told mum, and she forgot!”

Chris Ramsey
Chris Ramsey was the second person to be announced in the Strictly line-up on The One Show.
Chris is a stand-up comedian who has his own television show on Comedy Central UK called The Chris Ramsey Show.
On his announcement on the show, the contestant said: “I’m both excited and absolutely terrified to be doing the show.
“You will not find me on the dance floor at parties, you will find me at the buffet table. All night.
“At my wedding, I danced with my wife; that one song took about six months practice, and I definitely stood on her feet a couple of times.
“So I’m looking forward to the possibility of making a fool of myself in front of millions of people… there better be a buffet after the live shows.”

Emma Barton
The third celebrity to be announced on The One Show was EastEnders actor Emma Barton.
The star is best known for playing Honey Mitchell in EastEnders from 2005 to 2008.
Speaking on the One Show, she said: “I actually feel like Alan Partridge, I have the driest mouth.”
She added: “It is sort of weird I am now thinking have I don’t the right thing in saying yes because now I won’t be able to sit home and watch it”

Saffron Barker
The fourth celebrity to be announced was YouTube star Saffron Barker, who was revealed on Heart Radio.
The 19-year-old social media star is following in the footsteps of YouTuber Joe Sugg last year.
She said: “I am really excited to go on the Strictly journey and am feeling very grateful for the opportunity!
“I’m looking forward to learning all of the dances, finding out who my partner is, getting to wear the costumes and to just experience this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Catherine Tyldesley
Former Coronation Street Catherine Tyldesley was unveiled as the fifth celebrity on Strictly Come Dancing.
Speaking to Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes on This Morning, she said: I’m thrilled to be a part of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
“I’m a huge fan of the show. It’ll be my biggest challenge to date as I’m not much of a dancer, but I’ve always wanted to learn the skill and the time feels right!
“I’m nervous as hell but super excited to work with such talented professionals.
“Hold onto your jazz shoes… mine is sure to be a bumpy/clumsy/fun ride!”
The 35-year-old is best known for playing the fiery Eva Price on Coronation Street and most recently starred in the Channel 5 family drama 15 Days.

Mike Bushell
BBC sports presenter Mike Bushell has become the sixth star to be announced.
He is best known for his bulletins on BBC Breakfast as well as his own Saturday sports show, where he covers a full range of sports.
The 53-year-old was unveiled on BBC Breakfast and admitted his trepidation about taking part due to his lack of dance experience.
He said: “I am so excited to be joining this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
“I’ve heard so many wonderful things from colleagues over the years so thrilled I’m now getting the chance. I know I will completely throw myself into the whole experience and I’m sure will love it from start to finish.

Karim Zeroual
Karim Zeroual was named the seventh star on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
He is a children’s TV presenter on CBBC and is one of the youngest members of the line-up at just 19-years-old.
Speaking about joining the show, he said: “To be offered the chance to take part in Strictly is dumbfounding, I’m pinching myself…! I’m so excited to be Strictlified. I want the lot.
“The skimpiest of clothes, the widest of flares, the brightest of colours and the tallest Cuban heel a guy can find! The more flamboyant the better… sequins galore please!”

Viscountess Emma Weymouth
Chef and model Emma Weymouth became the eighth star on Strictly Come Dancing.
Emma is married to Ceawlin Thynn, Viscount Weymouth, who succeeded his father Alexander Thynn, 7th Marquess of Bath.
Following her marriage, she is a chatelaine of the Longleat Estate in Wiltshire.
Emma is also going to become the first Black marchioness in British history.
