Since The Force Awakens hit cinemas in December 2015, Star Wars fans have been wondering who Rey’s parents could be.
The most obvious clue is her connection to the Skywalker lightsaber, which was wielded by Anakin in the prequel trilogy and Luke in the original trilogy.
So one of the more popular theories is that Luke is her father, something that Hamill joked about – and possibly gave away – at Star Wars Celebration.
Now the Star Wars actor has replied directly to the question on Twitter, confusing fans all the more.
Hamill posted a picture of himself next to Avengers star Sebastian Stan, joking about how he could be the actor’s father.

Then in the comments BattleDragon Exetron asked: “You’re freak’n me out now.
“Uhmm. You are gonna tell Rey that you’re her father at the end of VIII. Right? Right?”
Hamill simply replied: “#WaitForVIII [Wow emoji].”
While Hamill doesn’t give anything away, perhaps the fact he doesn’t say no is a give away? Fans will just have to wait a few more months to find out.
Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi is released in UK cinemas on December 14, 2017.
