Star Wars leak: Obi-Wan movie’s working title is a BIG hint at setting and time period

Earlier this month the long-rumoured anthology tale was finally said to be in proper development, with Stephen Daldry in early talks to direct.

Now, Omega Underground claims its working title is Joshua Tree.

This, it seems, could point towards the Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California – or somewhere like it – as a possible shooting location.

Given that the first Star Wars film shot Tatooine moments at Death Valley National Park, could this be a strong sign that we’ll find Kenobi on that iconic planet between the prequel and original trilogies?

Lucasfilm has yet to officially announce the Kenobi movie, but the rumour mill has been swirling for some time now.

Ewan McGregor, who played the role in the prequel trilogy, has been asked frequently about whether or not he’d reprise the character, and the answer has always been the same.

“There’s no official offer, and I haven’t met them about it or anything,” he told Entertainment Weekly earlier in the year.

“But I’ve always said that I’d be happy to do it if they wanted to do it.

“It would be a good segue between the last episode of the prequels and the new episodes.

“I think they’ve got films to make until the 2020s, so I don’t think it’s going to happen soon if it happens at all.”

The next anthology tale, the untitled Han Solo project, is out next May.
