Edinburgh fell ill on Monday and was rushed to hospital having suffered a cardiac arrest.
The previous weekend he had been in Madrid watching Tottenham in the Champions League final.
Leyton Orient released a statement announcing the tragic news of his death on Saturday evening.

“It is with profound and utmost sadness that Leyton Orient announces its manager Justin Edinburgh has passed away,” it read.
“Justin suffered a cardiac arrest last Monday and passed away on Saturday.
“We are completely heartbroken by this tragedy’, said Orient chairman Nigel Travis.
“All our thoughts and love are with the Edinburgh family and we know from the messages that have flooded into the club over the last week that the wider football world will share our sentiments.
“The success that Justin brought to Leyton Orient was incredible, but more importantly the impact he had on us all as a winner and a wonderful, inspirational human being will be his legacy and will stay with us forever.”
Dan first took his place on the BBC Breakfast sofa as one of the main presenters after Bill Turnbull, 63, announced he was leaving following 15 years on the show.
His BBC Breakfast co-host is Louise Minchin.
In a recent interview with The Daily Mirror, Dan and Louise spoke out about their friendship.
Louise has claimed that they regularly help each other out of tight spots on air.
She said: “I think we’re both team players.
“And so many times Dan gets me out of trouble or I get him out of trouble.”
