Liverpool News: It sounds like we are the worst team in the league – Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool have endured a nightmare start to the new campaign after much summer optimism.

The Reds’ problems start a few weeks ago when they were emphatically thumped 5-0 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

In the time since they have dropped crucial points both domestically and in Europe against Burnley and Sevilla.

And, to compound their misery, they were beaten 2-0 by Craig Shakespeare’s Leicester in midweek in the Carabao Cup – ending their hopes of early-season silverware in the process.

But Klopp has defended his side as they prepare to face Leicester again on Saturday (5.30pm).

“It sounds like we have nil points and are the worst team in the league.

“I understand 100 percent we talk about it here.

“I already know the problems and have already decided what to do.

“By talking about it I only create headlines.”

The Liverpool manager also thinks he has the right players to help turn their problems around.

“We have proved it already hundreds of times. We obviously have problems that’s why we have only eight points and not fifteen,” he added.

“We can take it like it is. We still have work to do.

“Yes we have the right characters. Sometimes we react well, other times not perfectly. We can improve.

“Character is nothing fixed. You can’t say you cannot change your mentality, of course we can.”
