Yes, it’s that time of year again – the T3 Awards are here.
The annual award ceremoney has revealed its picks of the last year’s smartphones, tablets, PCs, smart home devices, and speakers.
Dubbed the “Oscars of Tech”, the T3 Awards are now in its eleventh year and boasts more than 38 categories.
The biggest winner was Amazon who picked up a total of four awards.
Their Amazon Echo claimed Gadget of the Year, Innovation of the Year and Smart Home Product of the Year, while they also claimed Retailer of the Year.
Only two other brands walked away with more than one gong.
Sony picked-up three for Best TV for the A1 Series, Best Bluetooth Headphones (over/on ear) for their MDR-1000X’s and Best Camera for the α9.
Philips won two for Best Connected Lighting for their personal wireless lighting system the Philips Hue and Best Baby and Toddler Tech with the Avent Smart Baby Monitor.
And finally, the coveted Phone of the Year award was won by Samsung for its flagship Galaxy S8 smartphone.
Express.co.uk branded the Galaxy S8 as “the best phone money can buy” in our in-depth review earlier this year.
“The Samsung Galaxy S8 is the best smartphone Samsung has ever built. It’s also the best smartphone you can buy right now,” we wrote.
“Like the original iPhone, the Galaxy S8 has redefined our expectations when it comes to smartphone design, and competitors are undoubtedly scrambling to catch-up with the stunning Infinity Display design.”
Samsung Galaxy S8 pipped competition from the likes of Huawei, Apple, HTC, LG and Google.
