Xbox One X Pre Order date: New standard edition release coming this week?

While fans have been able to pre order an Xbox One X in the past, stock was quick to sell out.

The first batch of consoles were released by Microsoft during their Gamescom conference in August, which also provided a little incentive.

Those first units were Project Scorpio Editions, which come with their own special design to celebrate the initial name of the console.

Microsoft have since confirmed that those consoles will not be available at retail again, and were only supposed to be a little bonus for those grabbing the console early.

“Although our fans may no longer be able to pre-order the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition in their country, we know people are still anxious to get their hands on the world’s most powerful console,” a message from Microsoft explains.

“We will be announcing details of the next wave of Xbox One X standard edition pre-orders next month so stay tuned for more information.”

As mentioned above, the tech giant also promised to reveal when their next batch of Xbox One X consoles would be launched this month.

And a recent retail leak appears to have confirmed that date.

According to Thisgengaming.com, a recent online advert for the console revealed that new stock will be arriving on September 21.

If this proves true, Microsoft should make their announcement early this week, although the advert also suggested that units would only be available in-store.

Whatever happens, it will be interesting to see if the console sells as well as the first batch.

That’s when the Xbox One X broke some company records, according to Microsoft.

“Within just a few days, we saw record-setting sell-out times and are currently sold out in many countries around the world,” the tech giant revealed at the time.

“You, our biggest fans, have pre ordered more Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition consoles in the first five days than any Xbox ever.”

While this sounds impressive and shows there is definitely interest in the new console, it’s hard to pinpoint just what kind of impact the Xbox One X has made.

That’s because Microsoft no longer share sales figures, meaning we don’t know the exact numbers of pre orders shipped, compared to the past.

Another group of Xbox One X pre order may help to decipher whether interest is holding up ahead of the November release date.
