Humorous texts between the former First Lady and her mother, Marian Robinson, show the lighthearted nature of the conversation. Mrs Obama shared the stage with stars like Jennifer Lopez and Alicia Keys at the 69th annual Grammy awards. Mrs Robinson texted her after the show and asked if she has “met any real stars”. Mrs Obama responded to her mother: “I am the real star by the way.”
Mrs Robinson simply replied: “Yeah.”
Following the exchange, Mrs Obama shared a screenshot of their conversation on Instagram.
Her post has been liked by nearly two million people.

Mrs Obama’s appearance has sparked questions as to whether her Grammys appearance is a signal of her intention to run for President in 2020.
After opening the show with Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett Smith, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Lopez, she received a standing ovation.
The stars all spoke about why music held a special place in their hearts.
Mrs Obama said: “From the Motown records I wore on the South Side to the ‘who run the world’ songs that fuelled me through the last decade, music has always helped me tell my story.”
Crowds vigorously applauded Mrs Obama as she paused in between her speech.
She added: “And I know that’s true for everybody here, whether we like country or rap or rock, music helps us share ourselves, our dignity, our sorrows, our hopes and joys.
“It allows us to heroine another, to invite one another in. Music shows us that all of it matters, every story, every voice, every note, in every song. Is this right ladies.”
Though this caused speculation she could be running for President, Mrs Obama has said she is not interested.
Mrs Obama explained her reasoning for this in the 39th Annual Simmons Leadership Conference in Boston in April.
The former First Lady said: “The reason why I don’t want to run for President – and I can’t speak for Oprah – but my sense is that, first of all, you have to want the job. And you can’t just say, ‘Well you’re a woman, run’.
“We can’t just find the women we like and ask them to do it, because there are millions of women who are inclined and do have the passion for politics.”
Mrs Obama went on to say she has “never had the passion for politics”.
She added: “I just happened to be married to somebody who has the passion for politics, and he dragged me kicking and screaming into this arena.”
