P20 Pro update: Huawei could reveal this phone's successor NEXT MONTH

Huawei P20 Pro debuted back in March of 2018 and took the smartphone market by storm thanks to its capable triple camera system, huge 4,000mAh battery and fast processor.

The handset came with a 6.1-inch AMOLED display that offered great viewing angles and vibrant colours.

Moreover, the flagship was also visually striking, especially in its Twilight finish that oozed tones of blue and purple depending on the angle light was striking it.

We loved the P20 Pro at Express.co.uk, awarding it top marks in our full review of the product.

Technology Editor David Snelling said: “Huawei has been making smartphones for years but nothing has grabbed our attention quite like the P20 Pro.

“This flagship easily keeps pace with the competition and in many ways it actually outclasses its rivals.”

Because of the P20 Pro’s mighty accomplishments, its successor is highly anticipated.

The presumably-titled Huawei P30 Pro has been rumoured to come with improved internals, a new camera system and an all-screen design.

Alleged renders of the product leaked last year courtesy of case manufacturer Olixar and showed a number of substantial changes that could be coming for Huawei fans.

The claimed P30 Pro was shown with minimal bezels around its display that featured a teardrop-shaped at its top, similar to what is currently offered on the OnePlus 6T and the OPPO RX17 Pro.

Moreover, the handset was shown with four cameras on its rear, suggesting a huge photography upgrade could be in store for Android enthusiasts.

While it was presumed Huawei would hold an event to showcase the P30 Pro at around the same time of year as the P20 Pro, nothing had been officially confirmed by the tech giant.

But in a fresh press release announcing its intention to double employment in Poland, the firm stated it would hold an showcase in Paris in March to show off its newest handsets from the P-series.

While the P30 Pro name was not mentioned, it is assumed such a product would be announced alongside other new P-series offerings.

The announcement seemingly confirms the new flagship will not debut at Huawei’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) press conference later this month.

The Chinese tech giant is holding its press conference on Sunday, February 24, at 1pm UK time (2pm CET).

Huawei has already teased that its much-rumoured foldable phone will make an appearance at the showcase.

Express.co.uk will be covering proceedings live.
