PUBG updates keep coming, and with them fans are finding out more on what’s coming next to the game.
A recent Steam update has been datamined and appears to have revealed the new desert Battlegrounds Bluehole Inc. have been working on.
The layout of the new PUBG map has now made its way online, showing a minimap view of where players will be exploring and battling for loot.
As you might expect, this new desert map doesn’t include any water but does appear to have several large urban areas.
Hard Luck looks set to become the biggest city in Battlegrounds, while other locations have also been revealed.
These include Murderland, Fracture and Dirtbag, which all sound pretty intriguing.
While fans will be eager to start plotting out their routes, it should be noted that this new PUGB map is still very much in development.
A lot of what can be seen in the new pictures will probably stay the same, however, there’s always the chance that Bluehole Inc could make some small but decisive changes in layout.
According to the latest information provided by Brendan ‘PlayerUnknown’ Greene, the new location will be about the same size as the game’s existing 8×8 km map, Erangel.
It was originally thought that the new desert terrain would rank at about 4×4 km, however, Greene has confirmed that things have changed since it was first announced.
Talking to Eurogamer, he revealed: “For 100 players an 8×8 just makes more sense and it gives more flexibility when we move onto custom games and things like that.”
It follows news that PUBG developer Bluehole Inc. have no plans to increase the price of the Battlegrounds on PC or Xbox One.
Battlegrounds creator Brendan Green told GamesIndustry.biz that there are no plans to go down the same path as ARK Survival Evolved and increase its price.
“We don’t have a plan to increase at the moment,” he said. “That could change, but from my understanding, and from what we’ve talked about internally, we want to keep the same price.”
Green said that $30 is a good price, especially for a game with such long-term appeal.
“We’re happy. $30 is a good price for what you’re getting, and this is a game that could last for five or ten years. You’re buying into something bigger than just a year-long game.”
Despite its popularity, Green still thinks it can reach more people, and perhaps even compete with the likes of League of Legends.
