NBA news: Clippers star Patrick Beverley knocks player’s TOOTH out before ejection – PICS

The 30-year-old caused injury while scuffling for a loose ball with Mavericks player Dennis Smith Jr, as he knocked the opposition star’s tooth out, and was then ejected in the fourth quarter for throwing a ball at a fan.

The Clippers lost 114-110 to the Mavericks, with Beverley scoring three points.

He also clocked four rebounds and three assists.

However, his night took a severe turn for the worse as he tussled with Smith Jr for a loose ball in the third quarter.

Smith Jr was waving his tooth at the referees as he asked why the foul was not given.

He returned later in the game, before Beverley was ejected in the fourth quarter.

The Clippers star was reportedly subject to verbal abuse from a Mavericks fan.

And when things turned sour, he threw the game ball at the fan, and was thrown out of the game.

“I told the referee, I told the security,” he said.

“I mean, I’ve never gotten ejected out of a game since I’ve been in the NBA.

“You know, I play hard, I play within the lines, of course.

“I play within the rules, of course.

“I’ve never been ejected in my career in the NBA, but I’m a grown man.

“I have morals. Of course, God is first, family is second for me, and I stand firmly behind that.”

Beverley also called on referees to protect players better in games, and claimed that this was not the first time he has been verbally abused by fans.

“I just, I can accept the ‘F— you, Beverley,’ the ‘F— you, Pat,’ but out of the lines of my mother, anybody who knows me, man, knows I’m a family-first guy, and there’s some things that are unacceptable,” he added.

“After I told the refs, I told security, the Dallas security, told both of them and again, he said it again.

“So if no one going to control fans, what are we supposed to do as players?”
