Wanted: Dominic Solanke

Huddersfield are involved in a three-way battle to sign Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke, reports claim.

The 21-year-old, who arrived from Chelsea in July 2017, hasn’t featured in any Premier League fixture under Jurgen Klopp this campaign.

And having struggled to establish himself in the first team – reports claim he could leave on a six-month loan deal.

Sky Sports claim Huddersfield, Crystal Palace and West Ham are looking to sign Solanke to help with their respective fights against relegation.

Huddersfield may have the advantage thanks to David Wagner’s close relationship with Jurgen Klopp.

Sadio Mane on Roberto Firmino

Sadio Mane has taken a sly dig at team-mate Roberto Firmino ahead of their Champions League showdown with PSG.

The Senegalese international has verbally agreed a new contract extension which will see him stay at Anfield until 2023.

Mane joins fellow attackers Mohamed Salah and Firmino in signing new deals in 2018.

The trio will be looking to help their side book their place in the Champions League knockout stages with a win in the French capital.

Before the match, Mane made a light-hearted joke about Firmino’s appearance in an interview with Soccer Bible.

“Do I like changing my hairstyles?” he said. “Not as much as someone like Firmino or someone like that who has a new hairstyle every single game!

“No, I’m happy with my hairstyle and will keep it the same.”

Isco future

Santiago Solari and Isco’s fractured relationship is a ’time bomb’ in the Bernabeu dressing room, according to reports in Spain.

The Spaniard was an important player during Zinedine Zidane’s tenure.

However, he has been slipping further down the pecking order following the appointment of Solari.

Catalan daily Mundo Deportivo say their fractured relationship is running the risk of causing major issues behind the scenes.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for his signature in the build up to the January transfer window.

Fabinho’s Liverpool future

Fabinho has been linked with a shock switch to Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the Champions League match between the two this evening.

L’Equipe have claimed PSG are ready to use the Champions League clash as a way of opening talks with Fabinho.

A January loan move for the central midfielder is said to be a possibility.

But Fabinho’s wife Rebeca Tavares took to social media to express her thoughts on the rumours.

She posted: “When I read some fake news in twitter………”

The comment was accompanied by a gif of a woman rolling her eyes.

Buffon on Liverpool

Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are BETTER than the front three of Paris Saint-Germain.

That’s the astonishing claim made by legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

“Throughout my career I have always wanted to test myself against the best — and at the moment you really can’t think of any teams in Europe who have a better front three than Liverpool,” Buffon said.

He added: “This season, I see the favourites for the Champions League as Barcelona, Juventus, and Manchester City.

“Liverpool as well have a big chance.”
