Jurgen Klopp’s side are second, level on points with Napoli but behind them due to their defeat in Italy, while one point ahead of PSG and two ahead of bottom-placed Red Star.
But Liverpool have lost both of their previous European trips this season without scoring a single goal having lost all of their last three away games in the Champions League.
That is the first time the Merseyside outfit, five time winners of the European Cup, have ever lost so many consecutive matches on the road.
They will be looking to bounce back with what would be an emphatic away win over PSG, though the Ligue 1 champions have won 14 from 14 in the league.
Les Parisiens have also won 10 of 11 home games across all competitions this season – scoring a total of 39 goals in that time.
That means Liverpool can be expected to face a tougher fight than in their 3-2 stoppage-time win over PSG in September.
Previewing the Parc des Princes clash, Owen told BT Sport: “Liverpool have put themselves on the back foot with a poor last result.
“However they gave PSG a good beating and a good lesson at Anfield. I don’t think they’ll go there fearful.
“But we all know that Paris will be a totally different kettle of fish on home ground.
“A draw would be a lovely result. But there’s always that chance of going to the last game should all go wrong.
“I think Liverpool can play anything. They can play a possession game, a counter-attacking game, they like to press high and Paris will pass it around so they’ll be able to nick it.
“As much as there’s been a few dodgy results away from home in recent months for Liverpool, I still think they’re suited to away form in Europe.
“They showed that last season by getting to the final.”
Liverpool have had Sadio Mane passed fit to feature after illness but PSG will be boosted by the availability of key forwards Neymar and Kylian Mbappe after sustaining knocks on international duty and missing the weekend’s win over Toulouse.
