That is the view of former NBA star-turned-pundit Jalen Rose, who has been impressed with the Lakers’ resurgence of late.
James – a four-time MVP – joined the Lakers last summer from the Cleveland Cavaliers and it took time for him to settle and he came under pressure earlier on in the campaign for missing free throws at crucial stages in matches.
However, with the arrival of Tyson Chandler, this has enabled James to dominate matches and he has averaged just shy of 29 points per game and is 46.6 per cent with his three-point field goal attempts in his last 12 games.

“You saw at different times in the game against the Orlando Magic when LeBron was stuck guarding a 5.
“He was doing that a lot earlier in the year.
“Now he doesn’t have to do that as it is tiring.
“That helps and it allows Lakers to slot McVee’s minutes make him play offense and defense.
“It puts Kuzma and Ingram in a position where they don’t have to be the tallest player on the floor in a lot of cases.”
Rose also reckons that the Lakers who hold an 11-8 record this season, could well be contenders for the Western Conference play-offs.
“This is who the Lakers are,” Rose said.
“They are amongst a lot of teams that clearly will vie for the play-offs, have the opportunity to advance but I don’t think they have what it takes to reach the play-off finals.”
The Lakers who lost 108-104 to the Magic on their last outing, take on the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday morning 2am UK time (7pm US time).
