Harry Redknapp: I'm A Celebrity star's son Jamie reacts to debut after admitting concerns

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2018 star Harry Redknapp, 71, became a part of the red team last night, who won their group challenge against the yellow team. Sharing his thoughts about his father’s scenes, Jamie Redknapp, 45, took to his Instagram to post a series of clips from the show in view of his 558,000 followers. At first, the former footballer shared a video of his dad putting his hand in a box filled with creepy crawlies in a bid to get points for his team. The ex football manager could be seem screaming as a creature appeared to irritate him.

Seeming to find the clip amusing, Jamie captioned it: “This is too good already.”

The football pundit then shared a video of contestants Rita Simons, John Barrowman, Sair Khan and James McVey screaming while they were in a helicopter.

Jamie wrote alongside: “I’m sure dad is going to love the next couple of weeks.”

His final upload saw Harry competing in the second of the group challenges.

The clip showed Harry and his team rowing a boat in a bid to get to their flag.

Presenter Holly Willoughby could be heard saying to Declan Donnelly: “Look at Harry, he looks like he’s in a bath.”

Reacting to her comment, Jamie wrote: “Dad does love a bath.”

Ahead of his dad’s appearance on the show, Louise Redknapp’s ex-husband revealed his concerns about his dad’s appearance on the show.

He told The Sun: “As a kid he was never worried about spiders. I’m worried about him with the shower scene in his pants!”

Jamie added he hopes his dad will find a friend in the camp, commenting: “I hope he finds a mate in there because from people I’ve spoken to, the hardest things are lack of food, but he doesn’t eat a lot my dad, so that’s gonna help him.

“And secondly it’s the boredom factor, there’s no racing channel for him to watch.”

Harry previously revealed that Jamie, his other son Mark and his wife Sandra Harris think he’s “mad” for agreeing to do the show.

He said: “My son, Jamie, thinks I am definitely not the full shilling! And Mark is like ‘are you sure you want to do this dad?!’ But it will be good fun.”

Asked why he agreed to do it, he added to the publication: “It’s a challenge, it’s an adventure and it will give me something to talk about.

“Everyone will ask me ‘what was it like?’ And I will tell them and the more I do, I will exaggerate – like I do most of my stories! My grandchildren are really excited.”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
