James makes his competitive debut for the Lakers tonight as they open their 2018-19 season on the road against Portland.
The four-time MVP left the Cleveland Cavaliers over the summer to move to Los Angeles and spend the first season of his career in the Western Conference.
Much has been made over the Lakers’ chances of making the playoffs and even their hopes of championship contention.
And James will be keen to lay down an early marker against the Trail Blazers, who finished third in the West last year with 49 wins.
The Lakers have not been to the post-season in any of the last five years and are hoping James’ presence can put them back in the conversation for titles.
